I had one of these that lasted many years and used it about 2 times a week. When the lid finally buckled, causing popcorn to spill out of the microwave, I decided to try a new breed of collapsible silicone poppers. If you're trying to decide between two types of poppers, Nordic Ware is by far the better choice. It has a lip so you can pick it up without burning your fingers, which is not the case with silicone. It also pops more evenly and it's easy to see when the pops have slowed down. The raised bottom style allows you to rest a hot bowl on your lap without burning your thighs. The flared shape of the bowl also makes it easier to butter popcorn; Silicone deep and straight, so don't toss popcorn with it to help spread the oil evenly. I also got a lot less unextracted cores with this Nordic commodity. It's such a good popper but seems to be the trend towards silicone, I'm ordering a few of these Nordic Ware to keep for the next few years in case they become unavailable.
