Provided you have Boxlink mounts installed these spikes are no problem. They connect and lock effortlessly. (and yes, you will have plenty of spare keys). They offer excellent mounting options "higher in the bed". And they're easy to open and close, so you can store them away when you don't need them. The only real dilemma I encounter when using them is this. I leave them on all the time and only take them off when they're in the way? OR, do I leave them on and only wear them when I need them? Difficult Decision. Having a ton I think I'll take the vacation option. I really hope I don't lose all the keys. 10 month update. Having used these spikes for some time I will report that despite their plastic look they are about as strong as I had hoped. I've locked them in pretty well and they (and more importantly the weights) don't move. They show no sign of giving. So great! By the way. The "leave on" option was the best choice for me. They don't bother me when I don't need them.
