Man alive, if everything was made with this velcro, nothing would ever fail or fall down. I didn’t know velcro could be this strong! So, be aware that you have to brace your dog and tear pretty hard to get it off! :) I think these are designed to use without pads, but that seems terribly gross to me so I use pads with them, which makes them pretty bulky. Luckily, our dog is blind and can’t see what a fashion horror this is! Also, they’re pretty wide, which I hadn’t really thought about, so they’re probably better for a larger dog. Our guy is only 25 pounds and it covers more than it needs to. They do shrink just a tiny bit in the wash, so if you’re on the edge of a size for girth, go up one. All in all, it does the job.
