Review on Lisle 83100 External Torx Socket by Josh Koa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes, that's what you need.

If you're a professional technician like me, you work on a car one day only to find out that the manufacturer, unbeknownst to you, has decided to use newfangled fasteners for no good reason that gets you in trouble. It's 10am, you're pulling the gears on a 2020 Explorer, you stop squeaking because you find this amazing looking bolt. You go to your toolbox and pull out an upside down torx. no, that won't fit. So now you wait 4 hours for the guy's picture to appear. He's got the outlet you need, 3 easy $25 payments a week for the next life, and it's yours. Then you move on to the next job and fix the rear of the Mustang. Lucky you, because it's a simple rear overhaul and "it's in your pocket, cowboy." Drive the car, put it on the lift and bam! Cowboy just got thrown off that horse because you are now facing a different size (which you now know) to be reverse torx PLUS because we all know plussing is better right? Save yourself the hassle and just buy this set. You need that.

Pros
  • Torx Plus exterior parts are used in the body panels of new Ford trucks with aluminum bodies and seats on GM trucks.
Cons
  • Long Lead Time
