Bought a pair of these after trying a few other longsword guards. We fight and compete with blunt steel longswords at full speed and strength, so defense is imperative and paramount to success. I was recommended other solutions like padded pants and a separate cup, but they just fit, so I decided to try them. I am happy to report that they are very comfortable. I'm 5ft 6in, 160lbs and wear a medium size over my boxers/briefs. They fit like a glove and stay in place for a full hour of sparring. Eventually I got a hit in the thighs, which I felt, but it was right on the padding, so I didn't bruise. Usually a shot like that leaves a good bruise, but he didn't even get sick in these shorts. Definitely worth adding to your tournament and sparring kit, maybe you'll be buying a second pair soon.
