Thor's Hard Hammer, 20 oz Fiskars all-purpose hammer

Although Fiskars started in Finland, this hammer was designed in the USA but made in Taiwan. The weight certainly helps when driving nails, although I'm used to the older, lighter, wooden-handled hammer. This hammer has a significant weight. Compared to a family heirloom, this is Thor's hammer for hard hitting. The claw has a slight curvature and as seen in the picture the head has a hole through an orange Fiskars brand plastic insert which allows the hammer to be hung vertically and the top of the handle also has two sections under the head. The "IsoCore" pen itself has a hard black plastic top and an orange gripping area that appears to be made out of a Sorbotan-type polymer that's soft enough to absorb the feedback of nails, but hard enough to absorb a to ensure long life. The label claims a 4x reduction in potency, but this cannot be verified. At the bottom of the handle is a face with glasses. The edge of the handle as a warning in English and Spanish that users and bystanders should wear safety goggles as impacts against hard objects can cause chipping and eye damage. There are even more warnings on the label in both languages, urging you to only pull uncured nails with your claw and to keep tools out of the reach of children. a head with a magnet in the middle and a curved indentation at the end to accommodate, for example, the head of a roofing nail (see photo), but roofing nails are only 1.25 inches long. A complaint was made about damage to the surface of the hammer head. I haven't seen much of it. All metal surfaces have been polished to a decorative matte finish which I am sure will be polished with use. All in all, this hammer expresses the typical Fiskars quality and should also serve the professional for many years. Fiskars offers various other weights if 20oz is too heavy or not heavy enough, including 16oz. a general purpose hammer with a milled head and a 22 ounce hammer. frame hammer.
