I bought fewer test strips of the same brand before buying online. The product is easy to use and read using the charts (one for freshwater, one for saltwater) on the bottom of the bottle label. Holding the strip after immersion in the aquarium water and waiting for the correct amount of time before comparing it to the charts is key to getting the correct reading. Comparing an uneven streak, or comparing too early or too late, may produce incorrect results. Therefore, use due diligence and follow the clear instructions on the packaging/bottle. Considering the strips have an expiration date (mine last about two years) this can be a bargain if you test your water at least every other day. When I bought them from Revain a few months ago I got lucky with a quantity and price error in the listing. The listing had ten bottles of 100 strips (1000 total) but at the price of one bottle. Even with post-shipment price adjustments on this list, the cost of 1000 strips at once is still significantly less than what I paid for a strip in a smaller bottle at the pet store.
