This is not one of those 5 stars and the review is complete! We got this to replace our old "Sound Design" belt drive turntable and it's exactly the same size as our old one! The top cover rises and falls smoothly without snapping onto the table. The speed selector is smooth and crisp, and the needle adjustment is smooth as well. When you put the needle on the record, it will slowly fall on the record like a piston, so it will not damage the record you want to listen to. The legs are strong and absorb shock/vibration well when playing. (I only know this because my 3 year old daughter and I jumped up and down right next to him while playing Linkin Park). Now for the sound quality: My wife and I compared our old one with this one at the same time. a new record player, and even on some of our old records, the stylus on it reads the grooves much more smoothly. Our oldest record (1908 78) sounded freshly pressed. We still recommend cleaning records before playing as the stylus is so good it picks up any imperfections! If I didn't say it above, we played our 33's, 45's and 78's with no problems! The adjustment knob I think is perfect for those with a small apartment, but I like it loud so being able to hook it up to our existing EQ and speakers is a nice touch! We've only got this for playing records and not so much for the Bluetooth capability, but it's a nice little setup for those who will be using that feature.
