Required a hole in a thick porcelain tile to drain the tub. It was going to be in an invisible place so my first wish was to just make a series of cuts with a wet saw. I bought these instead and in less than 5 minutes I had a nice clean hole in the tile. Some reviewers noted the lack of a pilot drill, but I didn't find it necessary. I used a 3/8" variable speed drill and held the drill steady at very low speed to start the cut. Once I paved the way for the hole saw, everything else was easy. Just remember to use water. with a spray gun or if you are alone, drill for 10 seconds, pour water over the part and repeat the process.
