I bought these tips (2) for a fairly old Archer / Radio Shack soldering iron. I've bought several spares over the years and these are by far the most fragile, but I didn't have an alternative as I needed a stronger (hotter) iron than my soldering iron. I bought them for two pretty tough jobs and if they last long enough for me to successfully complete each one I'll be happy. Most of my soldering work is done with a "stick". I had to bend the ends of each leg to fit the archer. I don't know why companies can't make a replacement that fits properly and is heavier. This isn't rocket science.
