UPDATE: GET RID OF THE BRUSH! It breaks down and leaves little hairs in your food. About a week after I received it I used it again and the little hairs that fell out were just amazing! I had to give up food. I threw away the brush. My husband also reports that he ate some curry with ginger, grated and grated before I discovered the problem with the brush and after a fit of gagging as he felt something pressing against his throat he finally coughed up the brush . ! ORIGINAL: I cook a lot of Asian food and always use a Microplane; Mine is older and not as sharp as it used to be. I saw people in videos using this type of grater and decided to give it a try. It was shipped quickly and was well packaged. A small tube for removing garlic from paper also works well - I've only ever crushed my garlic with the side of a knife - but the tube is very easy to use. The grate is very sharp! If the tips don't break off, which I haven't seen in any reviews, it should stay very sharp!
