Review on 🐱 Efficient Solution for Long Haired Cats: Dr. Elsey's Long Haired Cat Litter, 8lbs by Crystal Spicer

Although not legal, it serves as my emotional support animal so I want to put as much energy into it as possible

I have a kitten who is now 1.5 years old. Although he's not licensed, he's acting like my emotional support animal, so I want to put as much energy into it as possible and give him as much love and attention as he gives me. I absolutely HATE scooping. I REALLY hate this. I'm not going to potty train my cat, that's stupid. I don't want to put up with having to buy filters for expensive $100 self-cleaning boxes. But I also don't have the $300-$500 it costs to get a true self-cleaning bowl with no filters to replace every five minutes. In this case I use Otter Paw with a plastic filter. I don't have to scoop, I just turn it sideways and back and empty the compartment. This works great, but regular filling makes cleaning more difficult. I've found that it's best to use crystalline media as it absorbs better and doesn't stick together so the filter media of the plastic parts doesn't get as rough/sticky as clay or "regular" media. Unfortunately, finding a crystal filler that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and isn't too big or too good isn't easy. I've tried a few, including the most expensive one from Fresh Step, and personally found it mediocre for the price. Tried this as a last resort as I'm on a tight budget and REALLY didn't want to go back to a cheaper pen due to what I mentioned earlier and the dust and smell. This is my new junk. I don't have a long haired cat, but for reasons crystal litter suits me better. I have attached some photos. In fact, I was a bit shocked at how legal the packaging was, so I even took a picture of it. It comes in a fairly sturdy plastic pot like the one in the picture. It even comes with a lid that opens halfway for pouring. As can be seen in the photo, I completely empty the drawer, empty it and fill it with new junk about once a month. It only took half a container to make a pretty decent litter box. That lasts me 1-2 months which is a steal compared to other brands' prices. In short, this is my favorite so far and I will buy it again. I have pictures to show you my setup, packaging, filler, filler size/roughness. I added a mark there for size reference because that was the only thing I could think of!
