For the price these filters/caps can't be beat. I have a couple of very large aquariums at home which has kept me very knowledgeable when it comes to charcoal and charcoal filtration! - Pro's is cheaper than Keurig and I have 6 filters and a plastic filter base. Some filters are perfect - Cons - They used extremely cheap charcoal/charcoal ordered in bulk. It was REALLY dirty, sometimes you spend money on charcoal or top end charcoal and it washes out the deep black that comes when the parts rub together creating dust! Usually a good conditioner for 60+ seconds and soak for a few minutes and you're done! Black soot was still oozing out of this material during the hour of soaking and I used a kitchen syringe (fairly high pressure) to get it all in the filter and clean it all out! But for $13, it's to be expected! Actually sucks up a decent amount of contaminants! They have mechanical filtration (the fiber that makes up the filter) and charcoal/charcoal to remove the remaining impurities! THIS WILL NOT REMOVE OR REMOVE CHLORINE OR HARD WATER! HARD WATER IS CONSIDERED PH 8.5 OR HIGHER, THIS MUST BE REDUCED BY A NATURAL/CHEMICAL AID, NO FILTER WILL REMOVE CHLORINE OR REDUCE PH! not to be! You won't find a filter there that can! Well it's an amazon, it could have been in the title anywhere but it's all a lie lol. Overall great price! Decent filtration and decent charcoal/charcoal! Next time I'll buy a Keurig to see if I can tell the difference between the two!
