I hated the huge knife block on my counter and the fact that it wasn't easy to clean. I wanted something I could hide out of sight in a drawer and still keep my knives separate and protected, and it had to be something I could clean. Apparently it was asking too much to ask for things on the market right now. Joseph Joseph put it in a nutshell. It's good quality, light weight, has a rubber bottom so it doesn't slide in the drawer, separates the knives into 2 layers to make the most of drawer space and puts the knives on the edges so the handles come out easily . Oh, and you can toss it in the sink and clean it easily since it's all plastic! Just perfect. Highly recommended.
