My house is big enough that it needs an access point in addition to my main router (ASUS RT66U). So setting this router into access point mode leads to some weird things that I worked on for many hours one night with no success. If you select "Enable Access Point Mode," other fields, such as B. the IP address of the router, not. In my case I'm stuck with the router assigning itself 192.168.1.175. It's been quite a while since I don't remember everything I've tried, but after setting up a few routers in my time, I finally came to the conclusion that this was the only way how it worked worked. I was never able to get good WiFi speeds. n but here is a warning written right into the specs. Since the wired portion of the router runs in 10/100 mode, your wireless connection will definitely slow down to less than 100 Mbps. My connection speed is typically 75Mbps, so I didn't have a chance to test it. Given the firmware's quirks (and I only mentioned what bothered me the most) and limitations, I think this is a good little router for 95% of people. Well actually I can only confirm the access point part of this box so maybe as far as the actual routing functions go, take my 175 grains of salt rating.
