Not bad for the price

As I write this, I feel like this kit is half the price of its competitors. I installed this on a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. The instructions have relatively good pictures for each step and pretty good written instructions. Unfortunately they are not relevant. The manual states that there are two holes for attaching the mounting brackets to the cold air plenum, a flexible rubber hose for the pipe that goes into the cold air plenum, and instructs to use a bolt to attach the washer fluid reservoir to one of the brackets. Well there is actually only one hole with a bracket, it doesn't use the reservoir screw and the rubber flex tube is actually a metal elbow. Easy enough to understand but would be nice to have up to date instructions. The next problem was the hardware package. They did not include nuts, bolts and washers for the bracket which is still included. I used equipment that was already in my garage, but again it would be nice to have all the parts. Two things to note about the G8. The MAF assembly has a very tight tolerance. Twisted too far to the side and the MAF body tab will hit the radiator hose. He has traveled several hundred miles. Far on the other side, the MAF wiring harness touches the serpentine belt. I used a zip tie to hold the wire harness away from the belt so I could rotate the MAF for better clearance from the radiator hose. I've attached a couple of photos that will hopefully show what I mean. Now that it's fully installed, the smooth transition of the air makes for much smoother acceleration, and the engine sound is definitely more visceral. Overall this is a good device for the price but everything about the installation definitely screams, the corners have been trimmed to match the price. If you want a clean and easy install I would recommend Rotofab or K&N. Unfortunately, you have to pay a lot more for this pure and simple experience.
