It's only been a month, but so far so good.
I use it outdoors (although I take it with me when I'm done) in the pool for training. I don't submerge it in water but I hold it with wet hands and haven't had any problems. I have a little coaster that is really good for checking the time while swimming. I couldn't find a power switch, so I guess I'll have to change the batteries more often, but other than that I really liked it.
