This is the O-ring that Harley recommends replacing at every oil change. Apparently the shop I gave my bike to didn't read the owner's manual. My drain plug was leaking when I brought the bike home. I ended up draining the fresh oil and found they were using an old o-ring. It was chewed. After this experience I decided to change the oil. I noticed that you can make a few changes before swapping if you're careful. The Harley dealer must think that for the price they charge for an O-ring, there's gold in rubber.
