Asus Mesh solves problems like "everything " Mesh has some features

Look at reviews of "all" mesh routers and you'll see specific patterns and features. Asus is a good brand, there are the same. This fixed my wifi coverage gaps and is backwards compatible with their previous routers. The problem with mesh systems is that pure 2.4GHz devices are better off giving them a separate network ID. The same applies to 5 GHz devices. If you choose the default option with an online ID, you will simply ask for problems. Another thing I noticed is that the web browser interface allows advanced settings but seems to get weird when logging in and switching to different tabs. Looks like they stopped updating? The IOS app is missing some advanced features but seems to be constantly updated and more features are added as it should be. I found that there is either a fatal error in the 2.4 GHz guest network or my devices are defective. All devices always connect to the main router, not the next one. I ended up running a network cable from the modem to the router to which I had to connect these devices. This solved the low signal issue, but it's just a workaround. The normal 2.4GHz network works fine, the problem only occurs in the guest network. I've sent a message to Asus Technical Support with no response, but hopefully this issue will be fixed in a software or firmware update. Asus offers free protection while most other manufacturers don't. Unfortunately, compared to an IOS app, the browser interface allows for easier setup and fixes vulnerabilities. If you stick to the above rules, you will be very happy with this router. I doubt you'll find another tri-band or wireless router that doesn't offer some of these features. Except for the problem with the guest network. Another thing you'll notice is that other router manufacturers have left out some of the more advanced options that Asus still has. Am I satisfied with how my router is working, yes. I'm not happy with how long it took to resolve these issues. I hope this helps someone have a less painful experience. I still recommend this router, just hope the mesh network market matures in a year and solves some of the quirks.
