Review on Johnson Level Tool 1904 0700 Professional by Drew Diaz

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Smaller than expected

I'm leaving the original review at the bottom because it kinda puts it in a context that I really liked initially. I've had it for exactly 1 year and I can tell you that if you carry it in your tool bag, even if it's in its own little case, it will last you a very long time. The metal is very soft and bends easily as can be seen in the photo. The paint is not sticky and scratches easily. One of the main things I liked about this square was that it could be used as a tape measure more than the Swanson. Now it's so scratched I'm having a hard time doing it. There is a company called Martinez that is very expensive and I will contact them and see if their paint holds up better than them. It was good while it lasted, but at this rate of decay I don't know how long it will last. (Previous 5-star rating). "I wish I had found this many years ago. I always had the old Swanson Speed Square. The markings on this are much more accurate! I use it as a short tape measure all the time, while the Swanson's square speed marker seems to be 1/16 inch wide, so you kind of have to decide which way to go, which isn't a problem with that. Advanced scribing worked for me because I use it all the time, but I didn't realize until I knew you could swipe up to 3 1/2 by going the other way with markers. I will never have another square again and wish I hadn't bought a 12 inch square because I would get the same square and I still could.
