Description of Johnson Level Tool 1904 0700 Professional

ACCURACY AND DURABILITY: This aluminum rafter angle square boasts a solid aluminum body with CNC machined edges for greater accuracy and durability for any job or worksite. BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS: Thick edge is useful as a saw guide. The etched protractor scale can be used directly with the saw against the square for cross or angled cuts. Scribing notches can be used indirectly to create a saw cut line for rip cuts. SIMPLIFY STAIR LAYOUT: The Johnny Square’s integrated distance and angle scales let you quickly and accurately mark your cut lines on your stringers and, of course, this rafter square has scales for cutting hip, valley and jack rafters. ADDITIONAL FEATURES: Permanent graduations with easy-to-read numbers, continuous scribing notches – ideal for ripping at 3-1/2” and 5-1/2”, 2x4 board dimension markers for measuring 1-1/2”, 3” and 3-1/2”, low-glare protective powder coated finish.

Defective item - be careful

I received mine but the notch in the spigot was not drilled correctly. It was about 1/8 inch below the edge, not flush/tangent to the square edge of the ledge. i give it back

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Can't remember

Good luck removing the sticker!

I'm sure it's a great speed square but why do the manufacturers put their stickers directly on the product? I have to tinker and tinker with it to get it all out. Big waste of my time.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Socket Required

Great angle for measuring and marking tools

Great little angle. Ideal for finishing work or assembling shop cabinets. Nice and small and easy to carry in your belt. Very accurate has all the markings you would expect on a square. Fast and quality delivery, no damage.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Black fades quickly.

Coated with very unstable paint. I've been using it for two weeks and I can already see major signs of wear and bare metal underneath. I'm sure I won't be able to read it as easily over time and will replace it with a better one. The design and everything else works great, but wear and tear makes it a failure.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Almost never

Every man needs a 7 " Black Johnson.

The possibilities are endless with the 7" Black Johnson. You can use the 7" Black Johnson in the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, wherever you want your 7" Black Johnson. I even used it on my buddy's deck. You need a reliable tool that will do everything you need it to do, look no further than a black 7 inch Johnson!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Cool but wouldn't buy again if it wasn't engraved

They look great until the black finish wears off after a few months of use on a construction site after constantly sliding over wood. difficult to read. I like the increased width of the pencil nicks. If they were black and had the markings engraved to reveal the silver aluminum I would give them a 5. Not very convenient for long term use unless you mind buying a replacement every 6-8 months

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

So I'm a carpenter, not a steelworker. I bought this from Hope so I could glue it to the metal ceiling track when framing to line up the stud and I didn't have to hold it. Unfortunately the magnet/weight ratio is not suitable for this application. But it is very convenient to just stick it on the nearest hairpin and leave it there while moving the stairs. I've had it slip off my cleats twice, but the cleats were a bit greasy. The magnet comes in very handy when making a cut on a hairpin with a…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Smaller than expected

I'm leaving the original review at the bottom because it kinda puts it in a context that I really liked initially. I've had it for exactly 1 year and I can tell you that if you carry it in your tool bag, even if it's in its own little case, it will last you a very long time. The metal is very soft and bends easily as can be seen in the photo. The paint is not sticky and scratches easily. One of the main things I liked about this square was that it could be used as a tape measure more than the…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
