This switch was a perfect match for my 2013 Rancher 420. The connector is a snug fit and snaps into place with minimal effort. I'm guessing the braid was 18-24 inches long so securing it was no problem. Lots of extra cables so it won't be difficult for you to route them behind the fuel tank. I lost my keys so I had to pry out the old key cylinder with a vice so I could ride the ATV. The only notable difference is that the key has a hard plastic outer shell and not the rubber shell found on the original Honda key. If that bothers you, finding blank Honda keys is easy.
