They work great in my bearded dragon terrarium but are a little fiddly when I try to clean them, maybe it's just me but I thought based on research and other reviews i can get it out of the hose and wa-la but no, i definitely had to keep flushing out of the hose and moving it around to keep it a little clean. You can still see the places where he likes to do his business, but they mask the smell when fresh and are odorless after rinsing. I would still recommend them for reptiles as a little fat never hurt anyone.
