Based on the reviews I selected the majority and took a chance hoping to find something effective that doesn't cost more than my bike. Well-known brands are AVAILABLE for this tool. It's wonderfully effective and cuts shift or brake cables with ease. I've also used it to carve hulls. As for "crushing" the body, I think you're unlikely to find anything that will cut through a hollow tube without distorting it other than a rotary cutter. It's not that important - a small conical punch or mandrel will reopen the hole and restore the shape. There will always be opponents who will never be satisfied - if you are looking for a practical and efficient cable cutter at a reasonable price - then you have found it.
