set up our lighted Christmas tree and found the top had burned out - almost all of the top bulbs were blackened. I checked the voltage and wattage, found and ordered these bulbs and just swapped them out. New lamps are hardly noticeably brighter, probably due to the age of the old lamps. There are other more economical methods, but it's difficult to find a place to buy bulbs of the right voltage/wattage, so I ordered them. The bulbs work as they should - a few days later they still work and don't burn out. Just always check your wattage and voltage first! You can't just plug every lightbulb into every socket. That pesky string of lights has the information you need.
