Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Movo MC1000 Conference USB Microphone: Enhanced Range and Compatibility for Dictation, Recording, YouTube, Conference Calls and Skype on Windows and Mac by Todd Atherton

All in all a very good edge microphone for the price

In general, the microphone is of very good quality in terms of value for money. It's basically an MXL AC404 in a different case and $10 cheaper, so I copied my review of that mic here. It has a slightly fuller bass pickup than the MXL. This can be good or bad depending on the low frequency noise in your room. I've compared it to the similar Soundtech CM-1000 and each has its pros and cons. Both sounded better than my Jabra Speak 410/510 USB speaker/mic, although neither have speaker or Bluetooth functionality. I'd also like to try the Samson GoMic which (although it's not a Frontier mic) sounds good, is flexible and less expensive. Movo isn't truly omnidirectional; Maybe it's a feature of the 3 capsule design? In any case, mine works as a cardioid mic (the logo is on the front) and I've had good results orienting the mic that way. 90 degrees off-axis was a few dB down and sounded further, and 180 degrees was even worse. The SoundTech CM-1000 was omnidirectional, and while it had a few dB more noise and didn't sound as good as the Movo on-axis, it was better off-axis. In a multi-person room or for a distant recording, Movo wins, but for a small round conference table, SoundTech wins. SoundTech lets you daisy-chain additional microphones for better reception for large tables or rooms. Movo is not. But Movo has a headphone jack, which Soundtech doesn't have. All in all a very good mic for $60 (IMHO).
