Review on 🐾 Improving Pet Safety: Carlson Extra-Tall Flexi Pet Gate by Susan Stephens

Beautiful gate! (Exactly what we wanted - without the screws)

We needed a gate to close off our just over 1.5m playground so our little one is safe at night. Her room is across the street from ours, and while we wanted her to come into our room at night, we didn't want to sacrifice her safety in the process. This gate was the answer. The brand name of this gate drew me because we already have one at the top of our basement stairs and love it. The price was a bit higher than I would have liked, but luckily the retail price was more than halved at the time of my purchase! The cat gate was also a boost because we mostly used the gate at night when our cats are most active and roaming the house. When they first arrived, I was a bit surprised by the height. It really means extra high! However, I needed height as our girl is a climber and that's definitely enough. Installation was VERY easy, 15 minutes max. What took a little more time was finding the screws that came with the gate as one of the small packages had split and then realizing they weren't going to work anyway. We didn't drive the screws directly into the wood, and we plastered walls so the screws might fit someone else's, but they barely went 1/4 inch into our wall. I quickly ran downstairs to find the longer screws we had on hand, but if you're installing this gate with endurance hopes I'd recommend buying eight longer screws. Despite the small screws, this goal meets our expectations. What I like best is how quickly I can take it off and put it back on. Whilst we would work around the gate during the day if we had to, it takes easily under 5 minutes to detach this gate from the wall, fold it up and store it in a closet. We appreciate the extra reassurance it gives us and will definitely be purchasing more Carlson products in the future!
