[Update] I had a lot of fun with the winder but the gears shifted slowly inside and now a little over 1 month later it is unusable but the return period has expired. I would not recommend this roller for long term use. [Previous Review] This winding machine makes the cutest little yarn cakes at an impressive speed! I JUST got this today and have been obsessed with winding up every yawnball I have! Set up was very easy with the video they included with the product images. The thread holder's small metal rod does not normally stay upright because the ball is pulling it toward you, but if you pull hard enough, it stays in place. The tension will be too weak and you will end up with a soft cake that may fall off on its own. I've found that guiding the yarn [by letting it slide] between my fingers 10-12 inches from the metal feed rod creates the perfect tension to make a beautiful yarn cake. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase and can recommend this diaper! Extra hooks and stitch markers included - a nice bonus!
