So the cable set works great because there are no splice wires, but why bother? After seeing what it takes to install this harness I decided it would be easier to run the plus from the fuse box and the minus from the ground block into the cabin and hide under the carpet to my ham radio. If you have a JL there is a nice grommet on the driver's side firewall under the brake fluid reservoir that makes it very easy to run cables through. I used a heavier gauge fused wire so I'm using more sophisticated equipment than is rated for this harness and I didn't have to deal with the possibility of breaking the dash tab. Don't get me wrong, this is a useful wire harness, I just found it easier and better to route the wires to the fuse box. Jeeps are easy to modify
