I bought this because I have a S550 Mustang with a very long hood and a narrow windshield pitch which makes radar detector mounting locations difficult or inefficient. The rear view mirror position is by far the best place for this car. The sockets on the back of the mirror are easily accessible from the passenger seat, and the cable wires are the perfect gauge to fit snugly. The clamp is a little difficult to tighten, but that's due to my car's windshield tilt, not the bracket. All in all a great device and the perfect solution for attaching the Escort Max.
