This hood looks good. It has definitely brightened up my kitchen. Works surprisingly well, effortlessly removing all odors and smoke. money well spent. The only downside is the GESTURE SENSING mechanism. It's a useless mechanism that drives me crazy. My husband is a big man and if the poor guy is helping me cook or accidentally walks towards the hood, moving his head around the hood will cause the hood to turn on and change speed rapidly. This will annoy any tall person (male/female). But he found a quick fix as some other reviewers have already suggested in previous posts. Buy some black tape, cut it in a square shape and stick it on the hood in the gesture recognition area as shown in the picture. YES, you will lose the ability to "feel" the gestures of that beautiful lens hood, but believe me, it's much better without it.
