Review on 🍵 400-Pack Empty Cotton Drawstring Tea Filter Bags for Loose Leaf Tea (3.54 x 2.75 inch) by Jessie Lopez

These tea filter bags are made of the strong, thick cotton fabric I'm used to. I make a lot of herbal tea blends so I need reliable empty tea bags all the time. This 400 bag set is the best value for the largest quantity you can currently get at Revain (August '18). The bags will be packed by the hundreds and packed in a large ziplock plastic bag. I am happy with the quality. They smell faintly of pure cotton, which is a good sign (some bag brands have an unclean smell). They are durable and can withstand any regular use, even in boiling water. I usually put 1 to 2.5 teaspoons of herbs in each bag and tie my shoelaces in a knot. Each bag can hold a fairly large amount of tea. When making cold infusions, I typically pack each bag with 3 or more teaspoons that fit comfortably. Then I hang it in a large closed glass bottle with the strings sticking out and let it steep overnight. This is a great way to highlight the specific flavors and healing properties of herbs. Update: I ordered this product for about the third time in February 2019 because I have a lot of homemade herbal tea blends. But this product has suddenly changed, and I'm sure it has. The stitching is different and the bag appears to be made of a more durable material. However, the tea bag floats like crazy, more so than any other tea bag I've ever used (see last 2 photos). When I fill a tea bag with herbs and then try to dip it in a cup of hot water to facilitate the infusion, it doesn't come to the top. It just floats on top all the time. I'm not very happy with this change; It's weird and affects the overall effectiveness of my product. Look at the last photo, the sinking tea bag on the left is their old design. The tea bag floating on the right is a new tea filter design. Just hang out at the top.
