Throw away all other finishing materials

I first looked at this product to get rid of VOCs. I was reasonably happy with my hand rubbed polish, but something was still missing. I doubted Odie's oil sheen as I used oil finishes which basically just darkened the wood, lacking depth and dulled. This product accentuates any wood shape and creates tremendous depth. On walnut it darkens the wood significantly, while on maple it only creates a slight walking effect. I would describe the finish as if you would see it on a beautiful piece of antique furniture. As I applied the product with the gray tape I thought how much more work it is than just wiping the PVC. Then I remembered that with the wipe on poly I had to apply four coats and buff between coats with steel wool. I was also concerned about the three days it says to wait before using. Since I finish my projects before assembling, so I have to wait 3 days before assembling them. Again, I can only edit one side at a time with poly. Machine one side, let dry, flip and machine the other side, buff with steel wool and repeat X3. It took me over a week to get an unparalleled finish. What to look out for: This is a satin finish. If you're looking for a high gloss or want your wood to look like a piece of plastic, look elsewhere. You will need to sand with a finer grit than other finishes to get the best shine. WITHOUT VOC. It smells like lavender, although some say orange. You'll also save on latex gloves since you don't really need them, and you'll put on fewer layers. . I would say it might be around 30% more expensive but you will get better results. Too bad I didn't find this stuff years ago!
