I had an Intelliseat bidet for several years but it was difficult to clean properly and it finally stopped working about a month ago. I didn't feel like spending a few hundred bucks on another one as I felt it wouldn't hold up well enough so I ordered this model. My husband (an attorney, not a plumber) was able to install it with ease. It uses no power at all, and there is no remote control to lose or run out of power at the worst possible moment. It simply connects to a water source coming from the wall and you turn a dial, causing the stem to expand and create the pressure you want. The only potential downside is that it doesn't heat water. I can imagine feeling shaky on a winter morning, but I think I'm strong enough to handle it!
