I needed a black jacket (no logo) for my daughter for synchronized skating training. She is 3.5 years old and we chose solid black especially baby size. she just won't come by, haha). Since I wanted her to wear this for a while I ordered XS (size 5) not 4T. He was perfect for her. The arms were a bit longer but designed that way, with a thumb hole (which she thought was funny). The length is about half of her rear end, a good length for not lifting her up and exposing her back. puts on a tie (or animal fur) like a fleece jacket. It also seems a bit better for the summer, as we often go to and leave the rink with our jacket on. I would happily buy it again in the next size up (I'm glad I ordered the XS as the 4T would have been too small).
