Trusted brand for my surveillance projects

This is my fourth Amcrest NVR. (home, work and family). I am using this with (4) Amcrest UltraHD 4K (8MP) outdoor Bullet POE IP cameras and a 4TB Seagate Skyhawk hard drive. I plan to add a few more cameras and more storage soon. The NVR supports two hard drives, which I plan to use after adding more cameras. To add cameras, just plug them in, let them boot up and the NVR will find them automatically. When all cameras are connected, you have many options in the NVR menu. I use the 24 hour recording option with motion. This allows you to search for events faster by just checking when the NVR recorded movement, a great feature. You can also set up email notifications. Go to PNP in the setup menu so you can scan the barcode to set up the view on your mobile device, which saves a lot of time. During my first NVR setup, Amcrest's customer service was very helpful. I recommend this Amcrest NVR if you need to expand our system later.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of style

This is a very 'generic' NVR - virtually identical to the Lorax and Reolink versions.
