The camera alone deserves 4 stars - the photo functions work well with fun overlays and transformations for photos and videos. There are some interesting games, but not enough to be problematic. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed using the camera but didn't hold her attention for as long as the tablet she was also given. So expect your child to enjoy the camera for several months, then simply save the media to USB afterwards. The only functional problem is that the camera has limited storage space and the internal memory fills up quickly. However, my stars are sinking because the camera doesn't seem to last long. My daughter wasn't rude at all but after 4 months the camera was so broken that it accidentally shut down while using it, sometimes for a few seconds rendering the camera unusable. Different batteries did not help. Note that the VTech Kidizoom DUO appears to have a 90 day warranty. Therefore, our defective camera could not be replaced. This warranty is not expressly stated by Revain or VTech. This product is actually manufactured by VTech UK but it does not support the 12 month UK warranty when sold on Revain. They claim that Revain's "Online Exclusive" product is covered by a 90-day warranty on their products in the US, although this product is not sold by VTech America and their US customer service does not respond to inquiries about this product . Finally, in my experience. , VTech customer service was not very responsive and willing to deny or ignore a polite request. With several different departments around the world manufacturing their products, one department's customer service seems to be rapidly shifting responsibility to another. Conclusion: This camera should be considered a 90-day "disposable" product. They won't help you if it breaks. Maybe not worth the money because of the short lifespan.
