The switches are a great design idea. You would be perfect. WHEN YOU TAKE THEM TO WORK. I wasted 7 out of 20 trying to tighten the screw only to squeeze the support bar so it broke off and crashed into the wall! At first I thought maybe the hole placement is wrong and I screwed it in at an angle and therefore didn't catch. NOT RIGHT. I got tired of screwing the handrail into the ceramic tile and then unscrewing it again, adjusting and opening the retaining flange and screwing it in again and again. Too tired to realize that due to poor manufacturing practices the threads should have been sought in the first place. After 7 failures I started seriously figuring out what was wrong. When I first got rejected, I just shrugged my shoulders and said, okay, I still had some to work with. No longer. Now I have to pay another $21 to complete the job. IF YOU BUY THIS, USE A 1/4-20 CRANE TO TRACK THE THREAD! YOU CAN USE SCREWS BUT STEEL IS PRETTY CHEAP AND SOFT. JUST MORE CARE AND PLIERS.
