I was attracted to this product for the energy savings that its fully remote controlled DC motor can offer. I also liked that it was significantly lighter than the old ceiling fan in our bedroom. In addition, the full LED lighting offers more flexibility, and the 10-speed motor also offers a nature setting that creates a pleasant light and variable "breeze" at night. I encountered a few errors during assembly and installation. It only comes with a 6" lower stem which should be enough for a flat ceiling, but our ceiling is sloped and high so I had to purchase a longer lower stem from the retailer's website. The agents were very helpful and also provided additional hardware. However, when assembly began, the threaded bolt holes in the motor shaft housing were slightly misaligned. The manufacturer's quality control should have detected this in order for the screws to line up in their holes. Finally everything is up and the fan works very well. The lighting effects are particularly pleasing. The DC motor has behavior when changing speeds and reversing that I didn't expect: a little shaking and vibration, but once it picks up speed it settles down nicely. I'm glad I have this fan, even though it took a little longer to install. If you have a flat ceiling and can use a 6 inch rod this is a purchase you will be very happy with.
