Good but necessary modifications

I have a Miller Big Window Elite Auto Dark welding helmet. I bought these with a Lincoln Electric KP3046-250 lens. They say they are 4.250 but my caliper showed them as 4.280 wide. The Lincoln lens was a very tight fit and was 4.255. It's therefore a good idea to measure your helmet's mounting points to see how much space you have. To use them I had to remove some of the material to get them closer to 4.250. The lens is encased in hard plastic so it's easy enough to do. Also, one of the lens sets was covered with small grease/dirt stains. It looks like someone at the factory left it open before packing it. At first I thought it had been used but the rubbish was cleared out. It's clear that their quality control isn't very good (made in China) but with a bit of refinement they seem like good value for money. Now that these issues have been addressed, it looks like the lens is working fine.
