I bought a 5 gallon Fluval (Fluval Spec V Aquarium Kit, 5 gallon) and the reviews say it's difficult to find a heater. which matches the design of the tank, but this heater has been offered on several occasions. I had the heater on for several days, it didn't work - the water temp was constantly 70 degrees or colder. I thought it was user error, I checked and the water was above the minimum water level line, took it out, no it's warm, yes it's completely inside out. I thought - maybe it's a coincidence and I'm turning it the other way - let's see what that does. A day later the water temperature is the same. My house is drafty - no, the tank isn't in a direct line of draft, but I'm writing this as an indication that the temperature in my house is typically 68-72 degrees, and I gave this heater a little more time before changing the Apologies that it might be my house's fault. nope I do not recommend. I don't think I can return as it's been stuck in the water for a few days but I need to buy another one so I'm leaving.
