I didn't realize how difficult it was to find an OBD 1 code reader until I needed one for an '88 Ford F-350 I'm working on. Any code reader you can buy at an auto parts store is OBD II and III, not me, and they start at $79 and up! Revan to the rescue! Simple OBD-I Reader for less than $25! And given the location of the OBD-I connector (under the hood, in front of the brake booster), I also opted for an extension cable; That way I can sit in the driver's seat, hold the code reader in hand, scroll the ignition key through its steps and read the codes (it turns out that on the '88 cylinder, the H2So 1 sensor always reads lean, which also causes a lot Fuel that needs to be tipped into cylinder 1 due to fuel injection. I probably would have found it. Extreme. This thing told me what was wrong with no trial and error!)
