Over the last 20 years I have ordered many of these and replaced many of them as a service technician. We used to only swap them out because they started to yellow after a few years of use. I have never changed a toilet seat because it broke until the last 3-5 years. Now they never do it long enough to turn yellow because they break. I was very shocked that the 1st or 2nd broke because that has never happened before, well I guess now they want to sell more and not make them from the same material. Also a nutty plastic screw meant to keep the toilet seat from loosening and tipping back, well let me tell you after it breaks have fun pulling the baddies back (that'll never happen). You need to cut it off with a hacksaw. I installed my own locknuts and nuts. By the way, I installed at least 20 of them. Many Thanks
