What do I like? It's very easy to use. Expand the probe and it turns on. As advertised, the probe is long enough to be inserted deeply without getting too close to the heat to burn your hand. Flip it up and it turns off. I haven't tested the waterproofness (other than washing the probe) but if it's true, that's good. I tested the magnet and it sticks and holds which is good as this thermometer is quite large. The backlight also comes in handy when you're barbecuing outside at night. The package even includes an extra battery. What's not to love? Maybe two things: overall size and "style" or looks. Size: It's big, maybe even a little awkward. This is a minor defect, pretty much everything on the handle, which causes another issue I have, which is style. Style: It's just not elegant. It's very functional but busy. For example, I grew up with old "boss thermometers”—small round analog dials that attach to the end of a probe and are housed in a plastic tube. They are not as functional as these, but are elegant in their simplicity. I wish this thermometer didn't have a bottle opener or temperature chart. This improves the look, reduces the size and achieves five stars. If you don't care about all that, this is a very convenient, functional and pleasant device.
