This item is amazing. First off, it's the only pet container that fits my black widow's needs perfectly. She needs something vertical and with a hole at the bottom as she prefers to make her hammock out of cobwebs and spends most of her time upstairs in her habitat. (You can turn the thing upside down so the hole is down and the lid stays closed) That way I don't hear an oops when I open the lid and she tries to jump in my face (just kidding, she would never do that) Second, I don't know who in their right mind would give a bad review because "plastic isn't transparent". There is obviously a protective film on it that needs to be removed. I mean. Come on. I feel like this review was a joke. After removing the protective film, this suction cup is crystal clear. It's so clean that when it gets dusty, all I have to do is blow on it lightly and the dust flies away. This makes it very suitable for film and photo shoots. Because all black widows are comrades. Third, it's pretty darn easy to put together, it's CRAZY. It is easy to disassemble and assemble for easy cleaning. My 5 year old could put this together (I don't have a 5 year old but if I did they would mold this kid in minutes) and while this thing is easy to put together and take apart it's solid. . I mean, I trust him to keep my deadly black widow safe in a house full of clumsy, wild, wild kids. And yes, even with 5 year olds (I look after them). ALSO, this thing can be horizontal. For those critters who love long short habitats. The lid is magnetic and stays closed no matter how your pet chooses to live. There is a wall with no air holes. So if you use it horizontally, the knots won't fall out. Heck, you could even hang it from the ceiling if you wanted to get crazy creative. The vents are small enough for a small jumping spider, but big enough for a water mist nozzle, allowing you to spray water droplets for drinking or just a humidifier for these tropical species. I recommend buying this item! Don't look anywhere else because it's not there. This is the only one! I have a couple of black widow friends who ask me about it. It has become quite popular in the black widow community. I will actually buy a second one if they are sold out. Who knows. Maybe I'll get another widow too. I'd also like to add that if your widow (or other small critter) ever breeds, there may not be tiny babies in the spiracles. But I have a solution for temporary containment (pack and play quadruplets). Simply slip a nylon stocking over the entire canister to cover the vents. The creature can still breathe and prevent its children from escaping.
