Review on Sylvania 13.3-Inch Swivel Screen Portable DVD Player (SDVD1332) with USB and SD Card Reader by Daniel Russell

One of the worst purchases I've ever made. After comparing this to a few other options, I paid what I felt was a pretty high price, thinking I was getting a quality DVD player. It was the most expensive option at the time I was looking, but I thought for a good device it was worth it. We chose a bigger screen because we don't have a TV and this should be our setup for our baby show or movie night. I wouldn't mind this award for something really good that finally lets us watch movies without tethering our laptop! But I feel left out. What I got is not what I expected for this price. Problems: *Cheap case and clunky buttons - you try to turn up the volume and end up pausing the DVD. Also, the keys are REALLY loud and clicky. * There is no battery level indicator (that I could find). So if you actually use it as a portable player, it will turn itself off without warning. Usually we can leave it plugged in, but it would be nice to know the battery level. I suspect this will be a pretty big problem for most customers as this is supposed to be a /portable/DVD player. * Playback is uneven. Jumps and freezes are common. Ooooh, it's frustrating. Now we don't even know if it will turn on or if it will read the DVD at all. It's been about 6 months and the player practically doesn't work. I want to replace it but I'm not going to pay $100 twice a year to watch DVDs! To be fair, it withstood punishment from the greedy kid, but the problems (freezes and inconsistent button responses) were there from the start. I don't want anyone to be as disappointed as I am.
