Review on Hario Double Wall Glass Coffee and Tea Press: The Perfect 400ml Olive Wood Brew Companion by Kathleen Good

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best coffee press, period!

When I researched the different coffee presses, the reviews for Bodum were on average the best, so I was almost sure that I would get Bodum. However, I came across the Hario Coffee Press, which initially intrigued me. When I read the only press review (two stars) I turned my back on it. After 3 days of pondering what the best abs would be (and there are many), I decided to dice with Hario and buy the 17 oz. Bodum Press. The reason I decided to try the Hario Press is because the design feels right and makes a lot of sense. The only downside is that the Hario press is only 13-14 ounces and my mugs are 16 ounces, but that's not a problem because I can always refill my mug with hot water from a kettle. When they both arrived my son and I checked them out straight away. He drinks more coffee and I drink more tea. To our surprise, both did very well! The tea and coffee from both presses are excellent. However, the Hario Press has the advantage of keeping the drink hot for a long time, since it is essentially a thermos, giving you the opportunity to drink tea or coffee for a long time without having to worry about the water getting cold . . The drink in the Bodum Press begins to cool down quickly after hot water is poured into the jug. So if you intend to always drink your drink shortly after preparation and not to let your tea or coffee steep for a long time, then both are sufficient. The review this press is ripping is completely false. The design is anything but trashy. It's as strong as Bodum Press. He claims the plunger is too short, well I'm not sure if he wants a long plunger, but the plunger in the Hario leaves the same distance between the bottom of the filter and the bottom of the jar as the plunger. Bodom. You don't want to squeeze yourself into tea or coffee and end up ruining your filter. He complains that the top is too loose, but mine is very tight. Well, as is so often the case, the best doesn't come cheap, but given the feature set of this press, it's worth every penny. It finally looks cool!
