I will be embarrassed to write this but will do so in case anyone tries to hook it up wrong (like I did). When you receive this, the o-ring will be in the hex nut. First you need to remove the o-ring so it can be placed between the stem and stem. I left mine in the hex nut (looks like it was there for a reason haha!) and stuck the stem through the back of the hex nut (so it looked like an o-ring was extruding through the front of the hex ).
