Seriously. It was on my wish list for over a year before I finally got mad enough at the hex bolts to order a set. Now I think of all the things in my house โ€” furniture, bikes, equipment, paintball guns, and so on โ€” that have hex head screws or bolts, and I get mad at myself for it. This set seems amazing at first glance, until you really think about how much everything is connected with hex bolts these days. The answer is much more than you expect. You will use this a lot more than you would expect. As a tool and set, it's great. The quality is top notch and having multiple length bits is excellent. Haven't stumbled across the one I needed but didn't have yet. The ratcheting handle works well, but a big plus is that it works with both impact drills (with slower chucks) and regular old drill/screwdrivers. The thickness and strength are excellent, but if you manage to break it, DeWALT backs it up with a lifetime guarantee. The T-ratchet also comes in pretty handy when you don't want to dig out a drill to tighten a loose bolt here and there. . It offers decent leverage, but I felt like I was overloading it a bit when I really squeezed it. It's worth taking with you when space is tight or if you take this set with you on trips (camping, etc.) and don't want to pack the whole magazine right away. The fit of the Allen key is also first class. Mine haven't seen much wear yet, so they might come loose in a few years, but for now they're actually stuck in the hex head, which I prefer. It's also worth noting that these are straight hex keys. They don't have a ball end, so you can't use them at angles very well. It feels cheap, the insert doesn't meet DeWALT specs, and the little rod holding the bits always seems on the verge of breaking. It's also unusually (and needlessly) massive. i really hate it The trade-offs, however, are a set of T-handle hex keys that take up a ton of desk space, a collapsible set that's not always perfect, or a "loose" set that can fall out. . In short, the case is bad, but no worse than the alternatives in this set. I compared the length of the long bits to a "regular" hard bit case and it looks like they will fit when empty. If you don't mind being disorganized and shaking a bit, you could probably reuse a regular case. However, I don't have an empty one yet, so I haven't tried it. Side note: after planting that seed in my head I started looking at Harbor Freight etc for cheaper alternatives as I thought it was a bit pricey. At that time (May 2015) I did not find them. Now that you have this set and have used it amazingly often, it is worth the price every day.
