Review on Seavenger Nautilus Snorkel Breathing System by John Raj

Dangerous design

I have been snorkeling and free diving for several years so I am writing this review as a person with experience. I got this full face mask for my fiancé and wanted to try it first. I'm glad I did. There are three problems with this device in particular, in order of severity: 1) The front is flat (cheap), meaning the center of your forehead is constantly touching it. It's just annoying. 2) A rubber seal around the nose/mouth that separates fresh air from exhaled air is not suitable. This means that some of the exhaled air enters your field of vision and clouds the lens until you can no longer see anything. By the way, you are now breathing air with a reduced oxygen content. 3) The biggest problem is floating balls that prevent water from entering the tube (when diving, etc.). They're very light, so when you inhale forcefully, they're sucked all the way to the top and don't let air through. I experienced this while using this mask in the river today. I was underwater for a while, surfaced and when I took a deep breath the mask just stuck to my face. No air. Stopped and tried again to experience the same thing. I ended up having to rip that thing off my head so I could breathe. Obviously I'm fine but for someone new to this hobby it could cause panic and result in someone's death. I recommend Revain remove this product before someone dies from it.
